BIOGRAPHY

Mitch Smith has been composing music in one form or another for over 30 years. As a child, he would make up rock/pop songs and melodies only to sing and play on a borrowed, out of tune guitar. With no formal training and little music in his family, Mitch learned on a "Teach Yourself" keyboard, playing by ear and memory as well as absorbing anything anyone would teach him.

Upon joining the United States Marine Corps at age 19, Mitch invested in a decent guitar and weekly lessons near Cherry Point North Carolina. Driving home to East Tennessee every chance he got, Mitch was involved in an original metal band called "Witchery", who later changed their name to "Point of View" and released a studio album while playing the local circuit.
Years later, Mitch used his education benefits to earn a music degree from WSCC in East Tennessee. While attending, Mitch focused on guitar and piano and produced his first solo concept album, "Chivalry".

Mitch has since held a broad student base teaching Guitar, Percussion, Keyboard and Bass while pursuing his passion for composing and recording as well as taking on various musical projects in his community including Theatre, Praise, charitable events and helping promote local talent.
